Magnus Rodwell is a self-taught artist who began painting illustrations of his local area Bermondsey, while seeking employment having been made redundant. He found solace in drawing street illustrations whilst completing job applications. He previously worked for a Stockbrokers for 15 years taking on various roles from helping set up a Settlement Help Desk to Corporate Actions Analysis work. He has also worked for various international language schools as a teacher and director of studies.
He graduated from Southampton Solent University in 1994 with a HND in Business and Finance, which lead to studying at Winchester University for a Business Administration Degree issued with Honours. In more recent years he has qualified with a CELTA teaching qualification.
Since launching his art career he has undertaken numerous exhibitions, either in collaboration with other artists or solely. His most recent accolade was issued by Southwark Business Excellence Awards – Cultural Commitment finalist and commended (2019)
Magnus Rodwell remains a resident of Bermondsey London. His most recent project is to paint scenes of Rotherhide and expand on his greeting card collection.
