Handmade Scandinavian Table Runners

Born and educated in Sweden, Inger's love of textiles began at an early age. At school she learned sewing, knitting and other traditional crafts, but it was weaving that truly captured her imagination. Although she had no opportunity to learn the craft at the time, the dream of one day becoming a weaver stayed with her throughout her life.

In her early twenties, Inger moved to Britain and settled in Bournemouth. Decades passed, but her fascination with weaving never disappeared. Finally, during a visit to Sweden around the year 2000, she and a group of friends arranged intensive weaving lessons at a traditional Swedish weaving workshop. It was a steep learning curve, involving everything from preparing warps and threading heddles to understanding patterns and loom setup. Yet she embraced every challenge and quickly discovered a passion that would remain with her for life.

Growing up in Sweden, textiles played an important role in the home. Curtains, table runners, rugs and tea towels changed with the seasons, bringing colour, warmth and personality into everyday living. Those memories continue to influence Inger's work today.

While many weavers focus on complex patterns, Inger is inspired by colour. She carefully combines shades that work harmoniously together, creating designs that feel balanced, timeless and distinctly Scandinavian. Over the years she moved from using traditional patterns to developing her own original designs, allowing her creativity to flourish.

Each table runner is woven using high-quality yarns sourced from Sweden. Because Inger is constantly experimenting with new ideas and colour combinations, many of her designs are only produced a handful of times and are rarely repeated.

Today, weaving remains both a passion and a source of enjoyment. The greatest reward comes when customers share photographs of her work in their homes. Knowing that a handmade piece has become part of someone's everyday life is what makes the craft so special.

Above all, Inger hopes that others enjoy her colour combinations as much as she enjoys creating them.
