M. Rodwell presents a contemporary pencil portrayal of the Greenwich Foot Tunnel, a marvel of engineering inaugurated in 1902. This unassuming domed structure graces the forefront of Canary Wharf, prompting contemplation of both the industrial revolution and the modern finance world. The artist's touch adds four ladies departing the tunnel, modern-day adventurers poised to leave their mark on society.
Civil engineer Sir Alexander Binnie designed the tunnel for London County Council, and contractor John Cochrane & Co. executed the project. Commencing in June 1899, the tunnel was unveiled on August 4, 1902.

Pencil Drawings | Gifts to Cherish
The towering Alfege Church, with medieval origins, overlooks Greenwich's Royal Borough. Amid this scene, a solitary figure ventures into the town centre, trailed by a love-spreading bus billboard. M. Rodwell's drawing captures depth through textured gradients.
St. Alfege Church, an Anglican church in Greenwich, London, traces back to medieval times. Reconstructed by Nicholas Hawksmoor in 1712–1714, it's dedicated to Archbishop Alfege, marking his martyrdom in 1012.

Pencil Drawings | A Wonderful Choice for Presents
A beloved sight of Blackheath unveils the expansive common and All Saints Church. This tranquil scene also encompasses a corner bookshop and cosy cafes, where both locals and tourists immerse themselves in the surroundings.
An urban legend links the name "Blackheath" to the 1665 Plague or the mid-14th century's Black Death. While a burial site during the latter outbreak is plausible due to the established village and Greenwich's safe harbor status, the origins remain uncertain.

Pencil Drawings | Perfect for Gifting
Witness a charming scene in the heart of South London as a couple with a pram cross the pedestrian zebra crossing at Dulwich village. This pencil drawing print beautifully captures the essence of village life, making it an ideal gift that celebrates this delightful part of London. The image evokes the feeling of sitting and observing people in this serene location.
Dulwich's historical roots stretch back to 967 AD when it was a hamlet outside London, granted by King Edgar to his thane Earl Aelfheah. The name "Dulwich" has undergone various spellings like Dilwihs, Dylways, and Dullag. It is thought to originate from "Dill," a white flower, and "wihs," meaning a damp meadow, signifying "the meadow where dill grows." Ownership of the land passed from Harold Godwinson to King William I of England following the events of 1066.
