West Hampstead Art Prints & North London Village Memories

West Hampstead offers a relaxed North London atmosphere, balancing leafy residential streets with cafés, bars and a strong sense of local community. Although closely connected to central London, the area still retains a quieter village feel that makes it instantly welcoming.

My West Hampstead collection currently features one pencil drawing inspired by Fortune Green. What first attracted me to the scene was the winding road leading through the neighbourhood, naturally drawing the eye through the composition and capturing the everyday rhythm of the area.

As time passed, I also discovered the fascinating history behind Fortune Green itself. Years ago, there were plans to build on the parkland, but local residents successfully fought to protect the space, helping preserve the green area that remains part of the neighbourhood today. That strong sense of community and local pride feels deeply connected to the character of West Hampstead itself.

The drawing captures not only the road and surrounding architecture, but also the cafés, traffic and atmosphere that give the area its familiar North London charm.
